Walking the Camino

It was Martha who first told me about the Camino about three years ago. I had never even heard about it. The Camino grabbed my imagination immediately, and I said, "Let's do it!"

We trained together and walked the Corvallis Half-Marathon in the spring of 2013. Cali and I did a project together and walked every street in Corvallis later that summer. Doing a Camino was a natural next project. Then Martha injured her ankle and foot. The Camino would have to wait. When Martha's recovery took longer than hoped, she suggested doing a Camino when Allie graduated from Cal Poly.

That's what we did!

This is our story about walking the Camino Portugués from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. It was my first Camino, and I hope that writing about it makes it easier to launch many more of them.
